Hydrotherapy
There will be no Hydrotherapy from 28th May 2010 until further notice. See news page

Exercising in warm water is a well established way of giving physiotherapy to sufferers of arthritis and many other problems. Having access to the pool at Dee Banks is a boon to Arthritis Care Chester. We are very lucky.

Hydrotherapy involves exercises in water heated to just below body heat, about 34 degrees Celsius, so you don’t feel cold if you have poor mobility. The water takes the weight off your joints and enables you to exercise with very little pain. This enables you to do many exercises you wouldn’t normally be able to do. Which in turn helps to maintain mobility? We have a qualified physiotherapist in attendance at all times; and a lifeguard is also present.

Our sessions are held at Dee Banks School, Sandy Lane, Chester. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon – 1.30 pm (A qualified physiotherapist is present). During school holidays the pool is not available. Our hydrotherapy is organised by Jan who will issue you with a list showing the actual dates when the pool is open.

Please note that because of insurance restrictions only fully paid up members of Arthritis Care can use the hydrotherapy pool.
